Born in Urawa-city, Saitama, Japan, Chef Maruyama presided over "Takasen", a specialty restaurant serving the Japanese artisan chicken, Hinai-Jidori, as Executive Chef for five years before coming to Sumika.

With uncompromising attention to detail, Chef Maruyama aims to provide the sharpest grilling arts and best service possible. 

An amateur DJ and a passionate participant of Japanese "mikoshi"-festivals as well, Chef Maruyama is known to put his 100% into everything he does.
